I ran a few errands this morning.  While driving to the store I saw that the trees are beginning to turn color.  Some of them had just a few red, orange or yellow leaves while a few of the trees were almost entirely changed already. 

I was reminded of how soon the leaves would all die, some sooner than others.  I thought about how the leaves reflect my spiritual life.   How close am I to dying to self and becoming completely God’s?  Do I have just a few leaves turning color or are the leaves starting to fall already as I become closer to dying to self and living for God?  The season of Autumn shows us that in some instances, dying can be a beautiful process.  I think the same is true when it comes to dying to our selves and becoming alive in Jesus.
