“Didn’t I just clean this up yesterday?” Brett sputtered to no one in particular as he stood before the coffee table.  I calmly replied in my most sarcastic tone, “No, I think it must have been last month.”  Such is the reality of living with just one six-year-old.  Despite cleaning on a daily basis there are still places that manage to collect messes.

Spiritual cleaning must be done on a daily basis or sin quickly becomes like living with just one six-year-old.  Next thing you know the coffee table is covered in clutter, every piece of the train set is all over the floor and kitty is eating left-over cereal at 9pm out of a bowl Aspen left hiding in a corner twelve hours earlier.

Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  Psalm 51:7
