“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5
Early this morning a thick fog settled down over our town. As I look out the window to the backyard I can’t see but a few feet beyond the line of trees at the edge of the yard. But, I don’t have to see what is there in order to know what lies beyond the fog. A large field, just past that a road, and a house just the other side of the road. I know it’s there even though I can’t see it right this minute.
Faith is like that. I can’t see the future, but I do know that God is there and in charge of everything. I’ve seen Him in the past. So even if momentarily I feel as if I can’t see Him, I know that when the fog that temporarily blocks my vision dissipates, I will see Him. He is still there, He hasn’t moved. He won’t move. He will always be there.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
