Moving Day! Early this morning five young men showed up at our door to help us move all our stuff to the new house. They worked hard and by early afternoon all our stuff happily sat in it’s new residence. Considering that a major portion of our stuff has remained packed in boxes for about the last year and a half I’m not sure that we need all of it. But we insist on carrying it around from move to move thinking that some day we will use it or get rid of it. “Some day”.
“Some day” is a popular time to do things. Only thing is “some day” never seems to have a permanent time. It seems to be a random date that conveniently moves from here to there and yet never seems to arrive. It’s really not so horrendous to ‘someday” plan to clean out the garage. But when I relegate my spiritual growth to “some day”, or plan to help those less fortunate “some day” then the consequences of “some day” never being on the actual calendar isn’t such a great thing at all.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Isaiah 55:6-7
