We all know someone who name drops. Actually most people name drop occasionally, I know I have done so as well. Name dropping increases our status. It makes us as important…..or almost as important as the person we have met or associated with. If we have walked past a movie star on the street, had our picture taken with our favorite band, went to school with the presidents cousin or some such thing, we like to tell others about it.
God is the most prestigous being of all. It’s too bad most of us don’t get as excited about spending time in the throne room of God talking with Him as we do about meeting a famous person. Just think about it, it is an opportunity we all have, to “…Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) God doesn’t care if you’re the owner of McDonald’s or the person flipping the burgers. He doesn’t care if you ride the bus or drive a Mercedes. All are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace. God wants us to spend time with Him so that we may tell others of our experience with Him.
