Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  Mathew 18:1

Little children don’t have a choice but to be humble.  They depend on others for just about everything.  As we grow to be adults we can usually do most things for ourselves.  But, just like a little kid who can do something for ourselves we are proud of what we have done.  Jesus was our example of humility.  Andrew Murray in the book ‘Humility’, tells us,  “The path in which Jesus walked and that He opened up for us, the power and spirit in which He brought about salvation, and to which He saves us, is the humility that always makes me the servant of all.   Let us believe that what He shows, He gives; what He is, He imparts.  As the meek and lowly One, He will come in and dwell in the longing heart.”
