While staying at Brett’s dad’s house a few weeks ago I needed to plug in my cell phone to charge over night.  We had already put Aspen to sleep and turned out the lights.  The plug-in was located between the bed and the night stand.  Now I have plugged stuff in, in the dark before and I’m sure you have as well, but this time it wasn’t working so well.  It was at a rather awkward angle as I reached down and fiddled around trying to plug it in and I just could not find the right spot.   Finally in exasperation I flipped open my cell phone and used the bit of light to see enough to plug it in.

I’m sure you have heard of spiritual applications to needing to be plugged into God.  I would like to take that a step further.  Not only do we need to be plugged in, but to get plugged in we need the light of the Holy Spirit to make the connection.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me:  John 15:26

The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.  John 14:17

We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.  Acts 5:32
