Now may the God of peace sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus  Christ    1 Thessalonians 5:23

God wants to revive your spirit, restore your soul  and if your like me and severely dislike exercise he wants you to be healthy.  God wants us to be joyful, happy, and confident in the skills, talents and gifts he has given us.  If you’re not happy with your life it’s because your joy has been stolen from you.  Are you going to put up with that?  Or are you going to ask God to restore your happiness to you?  Restore you to being the person God created you to be?

Think of an old car sitting in the junk yard.  It was once new and beautiful….like the you that God thought of when he created you. Fresh off the line this car was a mechanical wonder and work of art.  Not created to just sit on the show room floor this road machine takes to the streets with places to go and things to do!  For awhile everything is great as the scenes of life and the world go whizzing by the windows and wind shield.  But eventually a few dings are picked up along the way due to the thoughtlessness of others, some parts begging to wear out because as they aren’t as young as they used to be, and maybe even a wreck or two while trying to drive through some unexpected storms.  Now, the once new and proud is now old and worn, sitting in a junkyard waiting for the inevitable end.

God created you perfect, and then the devil came along and created some rust to slowly eat at you from the inside out.  Then he broke your windshield so you couldn’t see clearly, he tries to run you ragged so your tires became bald and you don’t have the traction needed to stay on course, and your leather seats that used to be soft and pliable are now hard and cracked and crackle in protest whenever used.

But now picture an auto body paint and repair specialist who took that car and restored it to its original condition.  He knew what it was supposed to look like and restored it to its original condition.  That is what God wants to do with you.  He knows what you are supposed to look like.  Happy and free in Him.  Let Him restore you today.

The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.  He lets me lie down in green meadows.  He leads me beside quiet waters.  He restores the strength of my soul.  He guides me along paths of righteousness.   Psalm 23:1-3 The Message
