Take a look around the room you are sitting in. It may have been built recently or maybe a 100 years ago. But somebody hung the light fixtures, put in the windows, installed the wiring, and laid the wood floor or the carpet. Whether they did it recently or a 100 years ago, its unlikely they remember every nail hammered or each brick laid or the light fixture hanging above your head. But, it is still there and still creates the room you are sitting in whether they remember doing it or not.
The same can be said of your life, your thoughts and actions. You may not remember every thought and action you had yesterday, last week or 10 years ago. But, each thought and action and the consequences of it is still there today. Your past choices, the hidden and the seen, creates who you are today.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
